LORDSTOWN CHILDREN’S PANTRY MISSION PROJECT
Lordstown Lutheran Church has been working with Lordstown Elementary School and 2nd Harvest Foodbank since 2019 to provide for the special food needs of our Lordstown children. Together we have created a food pantry just for elementary age children and their families.

Over the past few years, the elementary school teachers and staff have become increasingly aware of the need to provide some students with additional nutrition support over the weekends. This Elementary Children’s Pantry will allow teachers to identify and send home supplemental “kid” friendly food with students for the weekend.

In order to continue the success of this program, Lordstown Lutheran Church will continue to collect food throughout the school year. Monetary donations can also be made directly to Second Harvest by identifying Lordstown Lutheran Church Elementary Children’s Pantry or call them for more information (330) 792-5522.

Special thanks to the Lordstown High School Business Math Class who will continue to support this project, working with Second Harvest to place food orders and working in the Pantry to pack food for the children. For more information please speak to Pastor Kate (330) 399-7227. Foods may be deposited in the RED TOTES outside the entrance to Lordstown Lutheran Church at any time. Call (330) 399-7227 for more information.

More than 820 million people - that's about 11 percent of people in our world today - are hungry
As members of the ELCA, we are called to respond. We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work.
Working with and through our congregations, in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands Lutheran churches overseas and other partners, ELCA World Hunger is uniquely positioned to reach communities in need. From health clinics to microloans, water wells to animal husbandry, community meals to advocacy, your gifts to ELCA World Hunger make it possible for the ELCA to respond, supporting sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.
